Von Ventimiglia in Italien kommend fuhren wir das Roya-Tal über die französische Grenze und Breil-sur-Roya um schliesslich gen Osten im Seitental der Lavensa La Brigue zu erreichen.
Coming from Ventimiglia, Italy we drive through the Roya valley across the French border and Breil-sur-Roya to finally reach La Brigue in the Lavensa valley.
La Brigue, das für uns der Ausgangspunkt unseres Abstechers zur Ligurischen Grenzkammstraße war, ist ein wunderbar authentisch wirkendes Dorf mit historischem Kern aus vielen verwinkelten Gassen. Dort laden eine Handvoll Restaurants und zwei Hotels (lecker zu Abend aßen wir im Auberge Saint Martin) zum Verweilen ein. Die Dorfkirche fasziniert mit ihrer Innenansicht.
La Brigue, for us the starting point of our excursion to the Ligurian mountain border road, is a wonderful authentic looking village with a historic center of many narrow pathes. There, a handful of restaurants and two hotels invite for a break. We had a nice dinner at Auberge Saint Martin. The church is fascinating with its interior.
Talaufwärts gibt es einen kleinen, gemütlichen Dorfcampingplatz.
A bit further up the valley there is a small cosy village camp site.
