Truma Gasfilter Einbau / Installation of Truma gas filters

Heute beschreiben wir kurz den Einbau zweier Truma Gasfilter vor unsere Truma DuoControl CS, der sich recht unkompliziert gestaltete. Der Gaskasten des ML-T 580 4×4 stellte sich als ausreichend groß heraus.
Today we briefly describe the installation of a pair of Truma gas filters to our our Truma DuoControl CS, which turned out to be quite straightforward. The gas bottle compartment of the ML-T 580 4×4 is fortunately big enough to host the filters in conjunction with the tank cylinders.

Hexagon Ragasco – „Safefill“ Verbund-Gastankflaschen / Refillable Composite LPG Cylinders

Uns wurde bereits früh nach Übernahme unseres ML-T 580 4×4 klar, dass wir bei unserem relativ hohen Flüssiggasverbrauch (Heizung, Duschwasser, großer Absorber-Kühlschrank) in Kombination mit erwarteten Winterreisen und Aufenthalten in wechselnden Ländern eine flexible Gastanklösung für das Fahrzeug bereitstellen wollten. Da im Gasflaschenkasten des ML-T 580 eine in Deutschland zulässige Fest-Montage von Tankflaschen mit Außenbefüllung nur sehr aufwendig möglich ist (und wir auch keinen Tank am Rahmen o.ä. montieren wollten) entschieden wir uns für ortsbewegliche Tankflaschen von Hexagon Ragasco (werden in Deutschland und anderen Ländern z.B. unter dem Produkt-/Markennamen „Safefill“ vertrieben).
We realized already quite early after taking over our ML-T 580 4×4, that we wanted to go for a flexible liquid gas refillable tank solution for the vehicle, mainly due to our high gas consumption (heater, shower, large absorber fridge) in combination with expected winter travel and stays in changing countries. We found out though that the installation of non-removable tank cylinders (with a handy filling option from outside) in our vehicles cylinder compartment cannot be done in line with German technical regulations without major complications. As we didn’t want to go for an additional tank mounted to the vehicles’s frame or similar neither, we decided to buy two refillable tank cylinders from Hexagon Ragasco (being sold in Germany and other countries with e.g. the product-/brand name „Safefill“).

Heute konnten wir recht schnell in Semur-en-Auxois unseren Bedarf an Propangas decken. Intermarche verkauft die Flasche mit 9kg Inhalt (ca. 18-19kg Gesamtgewicht der vollen Flasche) zu Eur 19,90, bei nur Eur 1 Pfandkosten (!).

Today we were able to fulfill our need for propane gas quite quickly in Semour-en-Auxois. Intermarche sells the bottle with 9kg content (approx. 18-19kg total weight of the full bottle) for Eur 19,90, with only Eur 1 deposit (!) for the bottle.
