Fahradtransport in der Heckgarage des Hymer ML-T 580 4×4 – bike transport in the boot of the Hymer ML-T 580 4×4

Wir versuchen gerade, die optimale Art und Weise zum Transport unserer Fahrräder in der Heckgarage des Hymer ML-T 580 4×4 zu bestimmen. Es gilt drei Fahrräder zu verstauen, ein Stevens City Flight (ca. 13.5 kg), ein Dahon Vector X20 (ca. 10kg, faltbar) und ein Early Rider Belter Urban 16” (ca. 5.5kg) nebst follow me Tandem Adapter.

We are currently trying to determine the best way to take our bikes with us in the boot of our Hymer ML-T 580 4×4. This is about three bikes, a Stevens City Flight (approx. 13.5 kg), a Dahon Vector X20 (ca. 10kg, foldable) and a Early Rider Belter Urban 16” (ca. 5.5kg) plus follow me Tandem Adapter.

Während die letzteren beiden Räder vorraussichtlich verzurrt auf dem Boden der Heckgarage ihren Platz bekommen werden, sind wir versucht, das Stevens City Flight an der hinteren oberen Zurrschiene aufzuhängen. Die Bilder zeigen einen ersten Test dieses Vorgehens.

While the two latter bikes will most probably be placed on the floor of the boot in a well fastened manner, we are seduced to hang up the Stevens City Flight at the rear upper lashing rail. The images show what we mean, they were taken during a first test of this approach.

Leider haben wir in der Bedienungsanleitung des Hymer ML-T 580 4×4 keine Angaben zur Belastbarkeit der Zurrschienen finden können. Am 11.5.2017 haben wir daher eine entsprechende Anfrage  an Hymer direkt gestellt und warten aktuell auf eine Antwort. Sobald die Antwort vorliegt und unsere Tests zum Fahrradtransport weiter fortgeschritten sind, werden wir wieder berichten!

Unfortunately we were so far unable to find any information about the capacity of the rail in the manual of the vehicle. We have therefore sent a question about this to Hymer on May 11th 2017 and currently wait for a reply. As soon as we get the reply and our tests have matured, we will report again!
